Classic Nautilus is the only
equipment that is constructed around human muscle/joint function.
Proper exercise for the human
body requires movement against resistance. The resistance, however, must be
as follows:
Rotary
– it must rotate on the same axis as the joint that has been set in motion
by the exercise.
Direct
– It must be imposed directly on the muscles that are being moved at the
moment.
Variable
– It must vary in accordance with the muscle’s potential strength in
different positions.
Positive
– the ability of the muscle to lift or contract (concentrically) against
resistance.
Static
– the ability of the muscle to hold resistance at any point in the muscle’s
range of motion.
Negative
– the ability of the muscle to lower resistance (eccentrically).
Nautilus
equipment is designed to provide rotary, direct, and variable resistance, as
well as to thoroughly tax the
three levels
of muscular strength (concentric, static, and eccentric). Other types of
commercial equipment,
such as
barbells, dumbbells and exercise machines that employ hydraulics or round
pulleys, do not offer this complete
coverage.
They are unidirectional, allowing only straight up and down movement, which
often times is 180 degrees
out of phase
with the actual strength curve of the muscle that is being trained. This can
result in a wasted time and
energy (at
best) and quite possibly injury. In addition, hydraulic machines do not
provide resistance in either the
static or
negative portion of the contraction, thus robbing the trainee of two-thirds
of the potential benefit of the exercise.
Nautilus, by
contrast, was designed with a contrary objective: to make weight training
more direct, efficient and productive,
resulting in
a more thorough stimulation of the muscle and a quicker route to total
fitness.
The Nautilus Fitness Revolution
All Started with the Super Pullover
Jones published a article in the
early 70's in a popular health and fitness magazine describing
his revolutionary exercise
machine and training method. This article was titled Upper body Squat
for the Back. It produced so
much interest that no other article has ever came close to amount
of letters that Joe Weilder has
ever seen. Even to this day Weilder publication stated no
article printed since has even
that popular. In this article Jones introduced the world to direct,
variable and balance
exercise. This was a world first as no other form of exercise is direct.
Super pullover 8
Jones stated in his article that
the pullover machine will be a effective exercise for the upper body as
squats are for the legs.
The leg muscles are a large body
part for the lower body and when trained correctly results are noticeable in
a short period
of time. The back muscle are a
large muscle group of the upper body and common exercises consisted of lat
pull down,
bent over rows, 1 arm rows and
seated. All these exercises did not provide direct stimulation to the back.
When it comes to a effective
back workout the weak link is the bicep muscle in all compound exercise and
the triceps in
isolation exercises. Plus many
of these popular gym exercises are also done in a wrong anatomically
position.
Wrong hand positioning and
wide/narrow hand placement further reduces the strength of the biceps. The
triceps muscle
is a weak link when trying to
perform dumbbell or straight arm pullover.
Jones pullover removed both the
weak links during back exercises. The pullover is a isolation exercise for
the back.
The resistance is placed on the
elbows. Therefore hand positioning is not important or counter productive.
Classic Nautilus pullovers
provide more than 130 degree of rotation around the shoulder joint. When
compared to a straight
arm pullover using a barbell or
dumbbell the range is less then 90 degrees. The triceps muscle will fatigue
during a barbell
or dumbbell pullover exercise
before you can effectively stimulated the muscles of the back.
The Super Pullover 8 is a Jones
original its is picture above. Nautilus made and sold 7 version of pullover
over the years.
I own all 7 version of these
pullover and I can honestly tell you that the Super Pullover 8 is the best
pullover by far.
The Super Pullover 8 is a rare
machine as very few where made and very few are left on this planet.
Classic Nautilus is proud to
have a Super Pullover 8 in our centre.
Classic Nautilus also has
women's pullover. As the popularity of nautilus expanded more and more women
started to see the
benefits of Nautilus training.
Jones designed these women's pullover so you can take confidence in superior
equipment.

Nautilus Double Shoulder - 1st generation:
Classic Nautilus Double
Shoulder is a perfectly balanced Deltoid Raise and Shoulder Press machine.
The Double Shoulder is an
Arthur Jones original and is designed to use in a Pre-Exhaust cycle.
To do Pre-Exhaust first you
complete one set of Delt Raise in perfect form, then raise the seat and do
the Shoulder Press.
This machine features a
negative cam in the Shoulder Press. With a negative cam the weight gets
heavier as the radius
in the cam decreases.
This machine is the best Shoulder Press machine I have ever used and is the
only machine that
I have ever experienced a
burning fatigue in my delts (Shoulder muscles). This machine is a must for
all sports that involve
shoulder strength.
Also a fantastic machine if you suffer from shoulder problems. This is
because the movement arms are
balanced with a counter
weight, this means no shear or tearing the shoulder joint during the entire
exercise
Nautilus Behind Neck Torso - 2nd generation:
Classic Nautilus Behind
Neck Torso. I bought this machine from Kerry Packer’s gym. The Behind Neck
Torso is a
pure isolation exercise for
your upper back. From over head down to stomach (pullover movement) and from
over head
down to your side. This
machine adds a balance to your upper back workout. For a perfectly balanced
back,
clients alternate between
the Pullover and the Behind Neck Torso.
Nautilus Multi Biceps -1st generation :
The Multi Biceps machine is
an anatomically correct biceps machine. When seated correctly there is
shoulder flexion.
Shoulder flexion
increases the contraction in the biceps muscle. It’s an awesome machine as
it can be used 4 different ways.
Standard, Duo-poly,
Infimetric and Akinetic. These last 3 methods are advanced training and can
take your fitness and
strength to a whole new
level.
Nautilus Multi Triceps - 1st generation:
A great machine to tone and
strengthen the triceps muscles. It has the same added benefits as the Multi
Biceps.
To use Multi Triceps in
Duo-Poly mode one arm is held in the contracted position while the other arm
is doing full range
movement. Then the arms
alternate. This is a great machine as the triceps are one of the weakest
muscles when doing
compound movement.
Therefore, by strengthening your triceps, your Decline Press and Shoulder
Press will improve.
